Wash. golfer advances in U.S. Amateur Championship

Feenstra edged Brent Paladino of Kensington, Conn., 2-up. He will face 2004 U.S. Junior Amateur champion Sihwan Kim of Buena Park, Calif., in the lower-bracket quarterfinals Friday. In the upper bracket quarterfinals, Georgia Tech's Kevin Larsen won two matches Thursday and will face Matt Savage of Louisville, Ky.; and Anthony Kim of Traverse City, Mich., will face Matt Harmon of Grand Rapids, Mich. In the other lower-bracket quarterfinal, Casey Watabu of Kapaa, Hawaii, will meet Daniel Im of Fullerton, Calif.
