The seventh-round selection in the professional draft will be assigned to the Tri-City Dust Devils of the Northwest League.
Stavert is scheduled to join his new team tomorrow. He said he hadn't been told whether he would be used as a starter, which he was for the Ducks, or as a reliever.
Stavert was one of three Oregon pitchers selected in the draft. Drew Gagnier was taken by the Oakland Athletics and Bennett Whitmore by the Mariners.
Neither Gagnier nor Whitmore has signed, but the deadline for terms to be reached is Aug. 17.
