Associated Press

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon will kick off the revival of its baseball program in 2009 at St. Mary's in California, and will play the Oregon State Beavers to start the Pac-10 season.

The Ducks will play a full schedule of 56 games in their first season in 28 years.

Oregon plays 26 home games, 27 on the road and three at neutral sites. The Ducks clash with the Beavers in a three-game set starting March 27.

"To start out with Oregon State is apropos," coach George Horton said. "I can't think of a more exciting way to begin for baseball fans in the state, our program and Oregon baseball in general."

Oregon State leads the all-time series 150-144. The Beavers were Oregon's last baseball opponent in 1981 when the program was dropped.

Oregon's game at St. Mary's is set for Feb. 20. The home opener will be Feb. 27 against Fresno State.
