Ducks defeat UCLA in dual track meet

EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon won 13 of 19 events in a dual track meet against UCLA this afternoon at Hayward Field in Eugene, the first such meet between the schools in 23 years.
The score was 94-59, and Oregon never trailed.
Oregon swept the javelin category, led by Junior Mike Simmons from Happy Valley who had a personal best of 226 feet, eight inches.
Senior sprinter Marcus Dillon of New Orleans won two individual races and was on both winning relay teams scoring a meet high of 12 and one half points.
Junior Jared Huske of Topeka, Kansas, won both hurdle races, taking the 110 hurdles in 14.58 and the 400 hurdles in 53.83. Huske was also on Oregon's winning 4-by-100 meter relay team.
