Pac-10 undefeated in bowl games
03:41 PM PST on Friday, January 2, 2009
The perception that the Pac-10 was a weak football league this season turned out to be totally wrong.
USC's dominating 38-24 Rose Bowl victory over Penn State yesterday at Pasadena gave the conference a perfect 5-0 record.
Previously, Oregon beat Oklahoma State 42-31 in the Holiday Bowl at San Diego; Oregon State shut out Pittsburgh 3-0 in the Sun Bowl at El Paso, Texas; California bested Miami 24-17 in the Emerald Bowl at San Francisco, and Arizona was a 31-21 winner over BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl.
USC finished with a 12-1 record. The Trojans' loss came by a 27-21 score Sept. 25 at Oregon State.
Oregon was 11-3, California 10-4, Oregon State 9-4 and Arizona 9-5.
