Corvallis native Erica Bartolina came in 3rd at the 2008 Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.

Along the way to qualifying for her first Olympic team, Bartolina set her personal best three times.Earlier this year, she came in 1st at Harry Jerome Int'l (4.35m/14-3.25) and 2nd at Victoria Int'l (4.25m/13-11.25).

While a student at Texas A&M, she became the first female pole vaulter at the university.

Bartolina grew up on a sheep farm and began vaulting at the age of 14.

Formerly Erica Boren, Bartolina married Southeast Louisiana State coach Mike Bartolina.
