Melanie Roach, 33, captured a top spot in women’s weightlifting so she can go after her Olympic dream.

Melanie juggles her training with her busy schedule running a gymnastics facility in Sumner, Wash. and she’s also married with three kids, including an austic son named Drew.

She grew up in Dallas, Ore. and first started competing in weightlifting in 1994 but struggled with a major back injury that almost ended her dream.

But in 2008 she reached a peak of her training and earned high points for the snatch as well as the clean and jerk in the Olympic Trials, earning her a spot to compete in Beijing.
