Brian Barden - Baseball

Former Beaver infielder Brian Barden been named to the 2008 USA Baseball Olympic Team.
He’ll be the first Oregon State University baseball player to compete in the Olympics and is the fifth OSU athlete confirmed to compete this year.
Memphis Redbirds
Barden has played in 89 games this season with the Cardinals affiliated Memphis Redbirds. He’s batting .303 with nine home runs and 34 runs batted in. He has 20 doubles and four triples and is slugging at a .458 clip this season, according to OSU.
Barden is a native of Templeton, California and played three seasons for the Beavers, appearing in 156 games and hit .362 with 39 doubles, five triples and 25 home runs. In 2001 and 2002, he was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team, the OSU website said.
