In an interview with CNBC, the Dutch speedskating coach Jillert Anema said he wasn’t surprised the Americans were doing so poorly in speedskating in Sochi because the United States doesn’t support the sport the way it should be supported.

He also thinks we don’t support speedskating because we’re too busy watching a stupid American sport — football.

From CNBC:

“You have a lot of attention on a foolish sport like American football and you waste a lot of talent, athletic talent, on a sport that is meant to kill each other, to injure each other. … You’re so narrow-minded, and then you want to compete against the world [in other sports] when you waste a lot of time, good talent on a sport that sucks.”

How dare you, sir!

Yeah, Mr. Anema, you may have led your country to 21 medals in this Olympics, but saying football sucks is tantamount to treason in this here country. You may beat us by a few seconds in skating, but I’m pretty sure a team of the best American football players would beat an All-Dutch team by something like a million. You heard me. A MILLION.

In closing: U S A! U S A!
