Seahawks trade for three-time Pro Bowl OT Duane Brown

The Seattle Seahawks have addressed their longstanding issue at left tackle by landing a player they faced Sunday.

The Seahawks acquired offensive tackle Duane Brown from the Houston Texans in a trade Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. The Texans landed cornerback Jeremy Lane, a 2018 fifth-round pick and a 2019 second-round selection, per the report.

The NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday at noon PT.

Brown started in the Seahawks' 41-38 win over the Texans on Friday, his first game back from an extended holdout.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection in 2012, 2013 and 2014, Brown helps stabilize a Seahawks front that has struggled to protect Russell Wilson or open holes for the 21st-ranked run game.

Brown had been one of the most vocal critics of Texans owner Bob McNair, who faced ridicule from players after an ESPN story published last Friday quoted him as saying "we can't have the inmates running the prison" during a meeting between owners and league officials. McNair later apologized but said his comment was not in reference to players.
