PORTLAND, Ore. -- Troy Brown, a 5-star recruit from Nevada, has verbally committed to play basketball for the University of Oregon.
Brown, who is ranked as the No. 18 recruit in the nation by ESPN, chose the Ducks over Arizona, Kansas, Cal, Georgetown, Ohio State, UNLV and Alabama. Brown took official recruiting visits to Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, Kansas and Georgetown.
"The style of play fits me very well for my versatility," Brown told ESPN.com. "I'm comfortable with the players that will be there."
Brown, a 6-foot-6 combo guard from Centennial High School in Nevada, joins a strong recruiting class for the Ducks. Oregon already has commitments from two other ESPN top 100 players in the class of 2017.
The Ducks' other commitments in the class of 2017 include V.J. Bailey, a four-star guard out of Texas who is ranked No. 97 by ESPN, and Abu Kigab, a four-star small forward from Canada.
