GLADSTONE, Ore. -- Sixteen-year-old Tya Seth is getting the chance of a lifetime. She’s going to play golf at the Poppy Hills Golf Course at Pebble Beach.
Seth started playing with The First Tee of Greater Portland chapter when she was nine years old. She’s become an accomplished player and helps The First Tee by working with younger golfers.
Seth is one of 81 First Tee golfers from across the country getting the chance to play at the Nature Valley First Tee Open this week. Seth will be paired with a Champions Tour player for the event. She calls it “a dream come true.”
The First Tee of Portland works with kids from 7-17 using golf to build values that strengthen the kids' character and guide them in becoming responsible adults through the game of golf.
Seth says the First Tee of Portland is “a huge support group of caring loving people that want you to be successful.”
