How local players fared in the weekend NFL games.

PANTHERS 23, SAINTS 20

Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart (UO, #28) started and ran 18 times for 31 yards and a touchdown, adding an 8-yard catch Thursday as the host Panthers led off the Saints. Offensive tackle Mike Remmers (OSU, #74) and tight end Ed Dickson (UO, #84) started, and quarterback Derek Anderson (OSU, #3) did not play.

New Orleans receiver Brandin Cooks (OSU, #10) started and caught seven passes for 42 yards and added two runs for 7 yards. Safety Jairus Byrd (UO, #31) started and had two tackles, center Max Unger (UO, #60) started and defensive end Obum Gwacham (OSU, #58) was inactive.

DOLPHINS 14, RAMS 10

Miami linebacker Kiko Alonso (UO, #47) started and had a team-high eight tackles, as well as a forced fumble and a fumble recovery as the visiting Dolphins scored twice late to stun the Rams. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (Grant High, #93) started and had six tackles, including a tackle for loss, and a pass defended and linebacker Spencer Paysinger (UO, #42) had five tackles. Quarterback Matt Moore (OSU, #8) did not play and cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (UO, #33) and defensive end Dion Jordan (UO, #95) were inactive.

Seattle cornerback DeShawn Shead (Portland State, #35) started and had one tackle as the host Seahawks topped the Eagles. Fullback Will Tukuafu (UO, #46) had a 2-yard run and tight end Brandon Williams (UO, #86) played off the bench.

Philadelphia running back Kenjon Barner (UO, #34) had three carries for 17 yards and a punt return for no gain and offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo (OSU, #73) played off the bench in the loss. Offensive lineman Josh Andrews (OSU, #68), defensive lineman Taylor Hart (UO, #77), linebacker Joe Walker (UO, #59) and running back Byron Marshall (UO, #39) were inactive.

COLTS 24, TITANS 17

Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota (UO, #8) started and was 25-of-38 for 290 yards and two touchdowns in the road loss. He added five carries for 29 yards. He has thrown two or more touchdowns in seven consecutive game, which is a franchise record.

PATRIOTS 30, 49ERS 17

New England running back LeGarrette Blount (UO, #29) started and had 19 carries for 124 yards as the visiting Patriots won. Safety Patrick Chung (UO, #23) started and had a team-high nine tackles, adding a sack for a 12-yard loss, and punter Ryan Allen (West Salem High, #6) punted five times for a net average of 37.4 yards.

San Francisco defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (UO, #99) started and had four tackles in the loss. Defensive lineman Arik Armstead (UO, #91) and offensive lineman Alex Balducci (UO) were inactive.

BUCCANEERS 19, CHIEFS 17

Tampa Bay receiver Josh Huff (UO) and running back Jacquizz Rodgers (OSU, #32) were inactive in as the visiting Buccaneers surprised the Chiefs.

Kansas City cornerback Steven Nelson (OSU, #20) started and had seven tackles and a pass defended. Linebacker D.J. Alexander (OSU, #57) and receiver De’Anthony Thomas (UO, #13) played, and cornerback Terrance Mitchell (UO, #39) was inactive.

STEELERS 24, BROWNS 9

Pittsburgh receiver Markus Wheaton (OSU, #11) was inactive as the Steelers dropped the Browns to 0-11 with the road win.

Cleveland defensive lineman Stephen Paea (OSU, #99) had a tackle off the bench in the loss. Safety Jordan Poyer (OSU, #33) and defensive lineman Dylan Wynn (OSU, #97) were inactive.

GIANTS 22, BEARS 16

New York Giants defensive end Owa Odighizuwa (David Douglas High, #58) had a quarterback hit in the host Giants’ win.

Chicago offensive linemen Kyle Long (UO, #75) and Hroniss Grasu (UO, #55) were inactive.

LIONS 26, JAGUARS 19

Detroit defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (UO, #92) started and had three tackles as the host Lions came from behind again to win. Receiver Jace Billingsley (Eastern Oregon, #16) was inactive.

Jacksonville tight end Julius Thomas (Portland State, #80) had three catches for 12 yards.

BILLS 16, BENGALS 12

Cincinnati offensive lineman Jake Fisher (UO, #74) played off the bench as the host Bengals lost to the Bills.

COWBOYS 27, RAVENS 17

Baltimore linebacker Patrick Onwuasor (Portland State, #48) had two tackles as the visiting Ravens lost.

VIKINGS 30, CARDINALS 24

Minnesota defensive end Scott Crichton (OSU, #95) was inactive as the host Vikings broke a four-game losing streak.

WASHINGTON 42, PACKERS 24

No local players played Sunday night as host Washington topped Green Bay.

RAIDERS 27, TEXANS 20

Houston safety Eddie Pleasant (UO, #35) played off the bench Monday as the Texans fell to the Raiders in Mexico City. Linebacker Tony Washington (UO) was inactive.
