McNary, North Medford win softball, baseball titles

SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- McNary High School bested Roseburg 5-to-1 yesterday to take the Oregon Class 6A baseball title. In Class 6A Softball, North Medford took the state title with a 4-to-3 victory over Sunset.

Thurston defeated Corvallis 5-to-1 to take the Class 5A baseball title. The Class 5A softball crown went to Crater, which beat Glencoe 5-to-2.

Astoria defeated Baker 4-to-1 for the Class 4A baseball title. Marist of Eugene beat Henley 2-to-1 in the 4A softball finals.

Willamina defeated Westside Christian 14-to-9 in eleven innings to take the 3A baseball title. Valley Catholic got past Willamina 4-to-3 for the 3A softball title.

In the 1A-2A baseball final Umpqua Valley Christian edged Union High School 2-to-1, In 1A-2A softball, Irrigon defeated Union 1-to-0.
