PITTSBURGH (AP) — Don't count quarterback Ben Roethlisberger among those concerned about the Pittsburgh Steelers' winless preseason.
Roethlisberger says having his team go 0-4 is hardly a problem. In fact, Roethlisberger says it may help the Steelers because it means the attention will shift to other teams, leaving Pittsburgh under the radar.
Roethlisberger and most of the starters took the night off on Thursday as the Steelers fell to Carolina 25-10. Pittsburgh's struggles on special teams continued against the Panthers, though coach Mike Tomlin says some of those mistakes should be fixed when the team trims its roster to 53 players.
Running back Felix Jones made a case to survive the final round of cuts. Jones ran for 56 yards on 14 carries as he battles for a backup spot with LaRod Stephens-Howling.
