INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Colts' career rushing leader Edgerrin James will join the team's Ring of Honor on Sept. 23.

James was one of the catalysts in Indianapolis' remarkable turnaround in the late 1990s and helped make Indy a perennial Super Bowl contender. In 2001, James injured his knee in October and missed the rest of the season. It was the only time from 1999 through 2010 the Colts missed the playoffs.

James ran for 9,226 yards and 64 TDs and won two NFL rushing titles in seven seasons with Indy. Team owner Jim Irsay also gave James a Super Bowl ring though he was playing for Arizona when the Colt won their title.

James will be the second member of Indy's "triplets" to be inducted.
