Ducks' Garrett charged with DUII
11:44 AM PDT on Tuesday, July 29, 2008
EUGENE, Ore. -- A linebacker for the Ducks who has been suspended from the team was arrested over the weekend.
Kevin Garrett is facing charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and resisting arrest.
He also received five citations, and his car was impounded.
He had been listed atop the depth chart at weakside linebacker for the Ducks.
It's not Garrett's first run-in with the law. Last October, he was cited for driving with a suspended license, and for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
Garrett played 12 games last season for the Ducks, recording 21 tackles and 11/2 sacks.
The Ducks' opening game is August 30th against Washington at Autzen Stadium.
