Oregon men, women finish second at NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -- The University of Oregon's men's and women's track and field teams both finished second today in the NCAA outdoor championships at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Texas A&M used a second-place finish in the 4x400 relay to win the men' s team title with 48 points. Oregon, Florida and Florida State tied for second with 46 points.

Oregon did not have a team in the event. Oregon junior Andrew Wheating won the 800 meters in 1:46.21 to score Oregon's final points of the meet.
The Oregon men were attempting the "triple crown" of track and field, having already won the cross country team title in the fall and the NCAA indoor title in March.
Oregon's women had finished second in the cross country and tied for second at the NCAA indoor meet.
