CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — One thing that the Beavers and Ducks can agree on: Green or orange, there's a lot of cash to be had selling the rights to use those logos on T-shirts and other apparel and goods.
A report from the Albany Democrat-Herald (http://bit.ly/Rdgp2H) in the wake of the Civil War game says retail sales of Beaver gear amounted to $25 million last year, bringing in $1.24 million in licensing revenue to the school.
University statistics show that's nearly $1 million more in royalties compared to 10 years ago.
The assistant director of marketing and brand management, Nita Nickell, says the story of rising royalties is the same at the University of Oregon, although precise figures weren't immediately available.
