Pilots women get No. 3 seed in NCAA tourney

PORTLAND -- The University of Portland women's soccer team has earned a No. 3 seed in the 2013 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships.

The Pilots kick off the tourney with a first round match against the Seattle Redhawks at Merlo Field Saturday night.

The winner will advance to face either Washington State or Illinois in the second round.

Florida State is the No. 1 seed in Portland's bracket (see below) and Nebraska is No. 2.

The Pilots finished the season with a 16-2-1 overall record and shared the West Coast Conference Championship with Santa Clara and BYU, who join Portland in the tournament.
