EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Ducks rallied to beat Austin Peay 6-5 on Friday night in the Eugene Regional.

Aaron Payne scored the winning run on a bases-loaded hit by Kyle Garlick that third baseman Greg Bachman couldn't handle for the Governors' third error of the game.

The Ducks (43-17) tied it earlier in the inning when Brett Thomas chopped a single back to pitcher Tyler Rogers. The Austin Peay (38-23) closer attempted to tag Oregon's J.J. Altobelli as he raced home from third, but missed.

The win was the Ducks' first this season when trailing after eight innings. They had been 0-16.

Trailing 4-3 after six innings, the Governors tied it in the seventh when Jordan Hankins scored from third on a double-play ground out by Reed Harper. They took the lead in the eighth on Cody Hudson's sacrifice fly.
