Indianapolis, Ind. -- Two former Oregon football players won cash prizes from Adidas for their 40-yard dash times at the NFL Combine.
Former OSU wide receiver Brandin Cooks won $100,000 for running the fastest 40-yard dash in a pair of Adidas during the NFL Scouting Combine.
Cooks completed the dash in 4.33 seconds Sunday while wearing a pair of Adidas adizero 5-Star cleats. The company offered the promotional cash prize to whomever could run the best time in its shoes.
Former Oregon Duck Colt Lyerla punched in a $10,000 prize for running the dash in a 4.61 seconds on Monday, according to The Daily Emerald.
Dri Archer of Kent State University ran the fastest dash at 4.26 seconds. However, Archer was not wearing Adidas shoes and didn't qualify for the cash.
Adidas, a German-based shoe manufacturer, has it's North American regional headquarters in North Portland.
