Beavers lose to TCU in baseball tournament

FORT WORTH, Texas-- Kyle Winkler held Oregon State hitless through the first five innings, and TCU used 17 hits to cruise to a 13-1 victory Saturday night in an NCAA regional game.
Winkler (7-0) allowed one run and two hits in eight innings, with the first coming on Joey Wong's single up the middle to lead off the sixth.
Every starter for TCU (38-16) had at least one hit and the Horned Frogs broke it open with a seven-run ninth inning.
TCU never trailed Oregon State (36-18) after Chris Ellington's two-run homer in second.
Oregon State scored its lone run in the sixth on Jared Norris' RBI single. Tyler Waldron allowed six runs on nine hits in 4 1-3 innings to take the loss for the Beavers, who won the CWS in 2006 and '07.
