PORTLAND -- When word came that Portland Trail Blazers rookie guard C.J. McCollum broke a bone in his foot, the team figured he would need surgery. But that doesn't appear to be the case.
The Blazers said Tuesday McCollum will undergo a non-surgical ultrasound procedure in Charlotte, N.C. to repair the fracture in his foot.
The team was working hard to get ready for the regular season. Defense was one of the things the Blazers said they want to focus on this year.
“I think just as a team we're doing a really good job of trying to stay true to the concepts of our defense,” Blazers center Robin Lopez told KGW.
Lopez said the players get better every time they play. They’re 1-2 for the preseason and play again Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz.
