PORTLAND – Portland Trail Blazer forward Thomas Robinson was cited for flying down Interstate 5 at 107 mph Friday night, police said.

At 11:12 p.m., officers clocked 22-year-old Robinson as he raced past them in his white 2013 Porsche Panamera in a 55 mph zone, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police

Police said Robinson was polite and cooperative while he was cited for violation of the basic rule (100 mph +), which carries a potential fine of $1,150.

On Sunday, Robinson tweeted an apology to Rip City Fans.

"Apologies for that speeding ticket rip city gotta be more careful with watching the speed limit my first and last one tho for sure," he said in the tweet.

Robinson was picked up by the Blazers in a trade with the Houston Rockets in June.
