PORTLAND - New Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts spoke with excitement Tuesday about the upcoming NBA season.
"We want to play an uptempo style, we’re not going to go crazy with it … but I’m excited about what we’ll do on the defensive end too,” he told KGW.
Stotts said rookie Damian Lillard would start as point guard. "What he showed in summer league was tremendous poise for a rookie player.” Stotts said he had a good, core unit coming off the bench.
“My goal coming into this is to show improvement. A better team in April than we were in November.”
He also said new uniforms would debut this year.
The first preseason game is October 10 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Halloween night is the first home game against Lakers.
