SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- The Gresham National Little League team that won the Northwest Regional Tournament to earn its first berth in the World Series went home 0-3 but with plenty of fun memories.

The Little League World Series is for 11- and 12-year olds and began on Thursday August 16. It's the 66th World Series in Williamsport, Penn.

Sixteen teams from around the world took part, including the Gresham team.

Gresham's final time at bat was a consolation game, against Uganda Tuesday.

The game remained scoreless until Oregon broke the tie in the top of the fourth inning with a triple down the right field line resulting in a pair runs.

Then Uganda tied the game on consecutive singles. In the fifth inning, it took the lead and held it tight.
