PORTLAND – The Portland Timbers showed off their new uniforms Thursday at an event called “The Runway on the Runway.”
The team’s “jersey sponsor” is Alaska Airlines, so the event was held in an aircraft hangar of Alaska’s sister carrier, Horizon, at Portland International Airport.
Timbers players and Alaska employees served as models for the show.
The Timbers’ main jerseys are green and their alternate jerseys are red.
“Tell me you’ve seen a cooler jersey unveiled,” Timbers owner Merritt Paulson said at the event, “not in MLS, but in any sport.”
The jerseys are made by Adidas and went on sale Friday.
The Timbers kick off their first MLS season in a few months.
