PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Who will lead the Portland Timbers when they make their debut in Major League Soccer in 2011?
Former Chicago Fire coach Denis Hamlett was in town Thursday to meet owner Merritt Paulson and general manager Gavin Wilkinson about the team's coaching position, according to The Oregonian.
The Timbers have also reportedly interviewed Houston Dynamo assistant John Spencer.
The Timbers join their I-5 rivals the Seattle Sounders in Major League Soccer in 2011.
