KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Portland Thorns beat FC Kansas City Saturday 3-2, sending them to the NWSL championship game Saturday.
The Thorns battled back from a 0-2 deficit in the first half, tied the game 2-2 at the end of regulation and scored the winning goal in the first 15 minutes of overtime.
Midfielder Allie Long scored the game-winner in the 103rd minute.
The Thorns will face the Western New York Flash in the NWSL championship game on Saturday, Aug. 31.
