ROCHESTER, NY. -- The Portland Thorns FC beat the Western New York Flash 2-0 in Rochester Saturday to win the National Women's Soccer League Championship.

Tobin Heath scored in the 40th minute to give the Thorns a 1-0 lead going into half time.

Thorns defender Kathryn Williamson was given her second yellow card in the 56th minute and sent off, forcing Portland to play a player short the rest of the way.

Then with a late stoppage time goal, Christine Sinclair sealed the deal for the Thorns in the first NWSL Championship.
