PORTLAND -- During Friday's Olympic Opening Ceremony KGW's audience dropped in to join two Northwest Olympic athletes for a live chat commentary and Q & A.

Olympian Kara Patterson and Rich Fellers joined KGW anchor Laural Porter and talked with fans about the Olympic sized nerves, staying focuses and those darned U.S. sweaters.

Patterson is the U.S. record holder for javelin and participated in the 2008 and 2012 summer games.  She attended Skyview High School in Vancouver, Wash.

Rich Fellers is part of the U.S. Equestrian Team and rode in the London 2012 games. He currently lives in Sherwood, Ore.
