BEAVERTON -- Logan Bye, 15, and Chloe Lewis, 13, watched the gold medal ice competition Monday night with a keen eye.
The teens are an ice dancing couple who finished sixth at nationals. They hope to skate for America in Seoul at the 2018 winter games.
"Oh gosh, I've never seen her so excited," Chloe said of medalist Meryl Davis.
Logan was intrigued by the technical aspects of the winning performance by Davis and Charlie White, whom they have both met.
"Looking at that I say, wow, that's amazing," Logan said, "But at the same time, what will it be like four years from now. Will it be way more acrobatic?"
The pair were the U.S. novice champions last year and first in a recent Pacific Coast sectional. They began skating together in 2010, according to icenetwork.com.
