Trail Blazers All-Star guard Brandon Roy is scheduled to undergo an MRI Wednsday for his ailing knee, according to KGW Sports partner John Canzano of The Oregonian.
One orthopedic surgeon told KGW when there is no meniscus in your knee, there's very little that can be done to help, aside from lubricating the knee where there's bone on bone contact, and anti-inflammatory medicine.
Even a micro-fracture surgery might not help, some doctors say.
Brandon Roy did not play Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies after it was determined his knee is still not healed. Backup Wesley Matthews, starting in place of Roy, led the Blazers to victory with a career-high 30 points. More: Blazers top Grizzlies without Roy
Roy left the game against the New Orleans Hornets last weekend due to the injury.
