ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — Recognizing millions of dollars of gifts from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's charitable foundation, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival is changing the name of its oldest and largest theater.

The Mail Tribune (http://bit.ly/1fyfLYb) reports that the Elizabethan Stage/Allen Pavilion will henceforth be the Allen Elizabethan Theatre.

The latest gift from the Allen Family Foundation is for $3 million. That brings the total over the years to $11 million. The money has been used to build a small in-the-round theater, to put an enclosing pavilion around the Elizabethan stage and to finance a cycle of plays about American history.

Allen also loaned the festival a copy of the First Folio edition of Shakespeare's collected plays.
