The renovation removed the track, which allowed seats to be lower and closer to the playing field.

Over the course of its lifetime, the new Husky Stadium will certainly see its share of close finishes. But the first one is happening before it even opens.

Kickoff at the new stadium is Saturday at 7:00 p.m. versus Boise State, but lots of finishing touches still need to be done. Officials assure KING 5, however, that they will be ready.

The project cost upwards of $280 million, and added amenities such as luxury suites, a state-of-the-art locker room and seating closer to the field.

The new stadium will hold 70,168 fans, which is actually fewer than the 72,500 it used to hold. Officials say wider aisles and a smaller student section account for the change.
