SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Jockey Rajiv Maragh has been discharged from the hospital after being thrown from his mount, Pico Dinero, on the stretch turn of the seventh race at Saratoga Race Course on Wednesday.

The New York Racing Association says Maragh, a 25-year-old native of Jamaica, was alert and taken to Albany Medical Center, where X-rays were negative. The statement says he will follow up with doctors on Thursday, and potentially could be cleared to ride that day.

Pico Dinero, racing in tight quarters in the one-mile maiden claiming race, stumbled and hit the rail on the inner turf course. The gelding regained his feet and galloped toward the wire. Pico Dinero was unharmed.
