Seahawks to taste Army life
07:16 AM PDT on Wednesday, June 3, 2009
FORT LEWIS, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks are coming to Fort Lewis and it sounds like they better be in U.S. Army shape.
Players from the NFL franchise will be at the post tomorrow to train alongside soldiers and catch a glimpse of Army life. More than 80 players will be divided among 16 Fort Lewis units to get a first-hand look at military operations, equipment and experience.
Other players will visit five on-post Clover Park School District elementary schools, and about 10 or 15 players spouses will visit the post's Family Resource Center.
The Seahawks are scheduled to eat lunch at the 593rd Sustainment Brigade dining facility, and then follow that meal up in the afternoon by running through obstacle and confidence courses operated by the 42nd Military Police Brigade.
