Seahawks' Jones sitting out Pro Bowl

07:00 AM PST on Thursday, January 24, 2008

Associated Press

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The agent for Seattle Seahawks offensive left tackle Walter Jones says Jones won't play in the Feb. 10 Pro Bowl because of shoulder surgery that was scheduled for this week.

The 34-year-old Jones just finished his 11th NFL year. He was selected for eighth Pro Bowl this season.

He's the second Seahawks' Pro Bowl player to opt out of the NFL's all-star game in Honolulu. The other was defensive end Patrick Kerney, who was also scheduled for shoulder surgery this week.

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, cornerback Marcus Trufant and, linebackers Julian Peterson and Lofa Tatupu are expected to play in next month's game.
