The Pacific Northwest's windy ocean beaches are heaven for people who love to watch or fly kites and there's no better place than Long Beach to set your creation to sail.

For one week every summer, thousands gather on the beach to fly kites.
For one week every summer, one of the world's longest-running kite parties takes place attracting thousands of visitors
"A big part of it is the community, the friendships, the people that we've met over the years here and at other events, and the real high quality of folk they are," says kite guru Corey Jensen.
Corey says Long Beach is the perfect place for practicing the religion of flight.
"When the winds come off the water, you get a smoothness and a steadiness of the wind that the people who live inland can only dream about," he says.
But kiters also love Long Beach for its great personality and its friendly people.
Something in the breeze says this summertime love affair with one "long" beach is destined to last a long, long, time.
