Spc. Justin W. Hebert
Age: 20
Hometown: Arlington, Wash.
Unit: Army's 319th Field Artillery, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 1 in Kirkuk, Iraq. Hebert was on patrol when his vehicle was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade.

Staff Sgt. David L. Loyd
Age: 44
Hometown: Jackson, Tenn.
Unit: Army's 1175th Transportation Company, Army National Guard, Brownsville, Tenn.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 5 in Kuwait. Loyd was on a mission when he experienced severe chest pains. The soldier was sent to the Kuwait hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Spc. Farao K. Letufuga
Age: 20
Hometown: Pago Pago, American Samoa
Unit: Army's Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 5 in Mosul, Iraq, when he fell from the top of a building while he was performing guard duty.

Spc. Zeferino E. Colunga
Age: 20
Hometown: Bellville, Texas
Unit: Army's 4th Squadron, 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Polk, La.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 6 at Homburg University Hospital in Germany. Colunga was initially evacuated to the 28th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq on Aug. 4. He was then evacuated to Landstuhl Army Regional Medical Center and later to Homburg hospital for further evaluation. He remained at Homburg until his death, which was unrelated to the recent cases of pneumonia in Southwest Asia.

Staff Sgt. Brian R. Hellerman
Age: 35
Hometown: Freeport, Minn.
Unit: Army's C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 6 in Baghdad, Iraq, when an Iraqi vehicle opened fire and ambushed his unit.

Pvt. Kyle C. Gilbert
Age: 20
Hometown: Brattleboro, Vt.
Unit: Army's C Company, 2nd Battalion, 325th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 6 in Baghdad, Iraq, when an Iraqi vehicle opened fire and ambushed his unit.

Sgt. Leonard D. Simmons
Age: 33
Hometown: New Bern, N.C.
Unit: Army's C Company, 3rd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 6 in Mosul, Iraq, of a non-combat-related cause.

Hometown: Tacoma, Wash.
Unit: Army's Company B, 307th Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 7 in Baghdad, Iraq, as a result of non-combat-related injuries.

Pvt. Matthew D. Bush
Age: 20
Hometown: East Alton, Ill.
Unit: Army's F Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 8 in Camp Caldwell, Iraq. A fellow soldier tried to wake Bush and noticed he was not breathing.

Pfc. Brandon Ramsey
Age: 21
Hometown: Calumet City, Ill.
Unit: 933rd Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Chicago, Ill.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 8 in Tallil, Iraq. Ramsey was part of a convoy escort mission when the vehicle he was in rolled over during a chase of a suspicious vehicle.

Spc. Levi B. Kinchen
Age: 21
Hometown: Tickfaw, La.
Unit: Army's 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Polk, La.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 9 in Baghdad, Iraq. A fellow soldier tried to wake Kinchen and noticed he was not breathing.

Sgt. Floyd G. Knighten Jr.
Age: 55
Hometown: Olla, La.
Unit: 1087th Transportation Support Company, Army National Guard, Fort Polk, La.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 9 in Iraq as a result of a non-combat-related cause while in a convoy from Camp Bilad heading to Camp Pennsylvania.

Staff Sgt. David S. Perry
Age: 36
Hometown: Bakersfield, Calif.
Unit: 649th Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 10 in Baquabah, Iraq. Perry was inspecting a suspicious package when it exploded.

Staff Sgt. Richard S. Eaton Jr.
Age: 37
Hometown: Guilford, Conn.
Unit: 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion, U.S. Army Reserves, based at Fort Meade, Md.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 12 in Ar Ramadi, Iraq. A fellow soldier tried to wake Eaton and noticed he was not breathing.

Pfc. Daniel R. Parker
Age: 18
Hometown: Lake Elsinore, Calif.
Unit: Army's B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 12 in Mosul, Iraq. Parker was thrown from his vehicle when the driver swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle in another lane.

Pfc. Timmy R. Brown Jr.
Age: 21
Hometown: Conway, Pa.
Unit: Army's D Company, 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 12 while in a convoy in Taji, Iraq, when he was struck by an explosive device.

Age: 29
Hometown: New Orleans, La.
Unit: Army's 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 12 while in a convoy near Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.

Sgt. Steven W. White
Age: 29
Hometown: Lawton, Okla.
Unit: Army's Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, based at Fort Hood, Texas.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 13 in Tikrit, Iraq, when his M113 armored personnel carrier hit an antitank mine.

Pfc. David M. Kirchhoff
Age: 31
Hometown: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Unit: Army's 2133rd Transportation Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Centerville, Iowa.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 14 in Landstuhl, Germany, after suffering a non-hostile injury on Aug. 8.

Spc. Craig S. Ivory
Age: 26
Hometown: Port Matilda, Pa.
Unit: Army's 501st Forward Support Company, 173rd Airborne Brigade, Southern European Task Force, Vicenza, Italy.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 17 in Homberg University Hospital, Germany, of a non-combat related cause. Ivory was medically evacuated from Kuwait on Aug. 12.

Spc. Eric R. Hull
Age: 23
Hometown: Uniontown, Pa.
Unit: Army's 307th Military Police Company, U.S. Army Reserves, New Kensington, Pa.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 18 in Baghdad, Iraq. Hull was in a military vehicle returning from the airport when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.

Sgt. Kenneth W. Harris Jr.
Age: 23
Hometown: Charlotte, Tenn.
Unit: Army's 212th Transportation Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 20 in Scania, Iraq. Harris was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident while driving south on the main supply route.

Staff Sgt. Bobby C. Franklin
Age: 38
Hometown: Mineral Bluff, Ga.
Unit: Army's 210th Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Murphy, N.C.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 20 in Baghdad, Iraq, when struck by an improvised explosive device.

Lt. Kylan A. Jones-Huffman
Age: 31
Hometown: Aptos, Calif.
Unit: Navy officer on temporary duty with the I Marine Expeditionary Force.
Circumstances: Killed Aug. 21 in Al Hillah, Iraq, by an unidentified gunman.

Pfc. Michael S. Adams
Age: 20
Hometown: Spartanburg, S.C.
Unit: Army's 1st Battalion, 35th Armor Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 21 in Baghdad, Iraq. Adams was participating in a small-arms fire exercise on the range when a bullet ricocheted and ignited a fire in the building. He died as a result of injuries sustained during the fire.

Spc. Stephen M. Scott
Age: 21
Hometown: Lawton, Okla.
Unit: Army's 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 23 in Baghdad, Iraq, as a result of non-combat injuries.

Pfc. Vorn J. Mack
Age: 19
Hometown: Orangeburg, S.C.
Unit: Army's 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 23 near the Hadithah Dam, west of Ar Ramadi, Iraq. Mack jumped into the Euphrates River to take a swim and did not resurface. A search party found Mack's body downstream on Aug. 24.

Spc. Ronald D. Allen Jr.
Age: 22
Hometown: Mitchell, Ind.
Unit: Army's 502nd Personnel Service Battalion, 43rd Area Support Group, Fort Carson, Colo.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 25 while conducting convoy operations near Balad, Iraq, when he was involved in a vehicular accident.

Pfc. Pablo Manzano
Age: 19
Hometown: Heber, Calif.
Unit: Army's B Company, 54th Engineer Battalion, V Corps, Bamberg, Germany.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 25 as a result of a non-combat weapons discharge in Logistical Support Area Dogwood, Iraq.

Spc. Darryl T. Dent
Age: 21
Hometown: Washington, D.C.
Unit: Army's 547th Transportation Company, U.S. Army National Guard, based in Washington, D.C.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 26 in southeast Arimadi, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle in a convoy.

Spc. Rafael L. Navea
Age: 34
Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pa.
Unit: Army's C Battery, 2nd Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment, based at Fort Sill, Okla.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 27 in Al Fallujah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle.

Sgt. Gregory A. Belanger
Age: 24
Hometown: Narragansett, R.I.
Unit: Headquarters and Headquarters Service Company, 325th Military Intelligence Battalion, U.S. Army Reserves, based at Ayer, Mass.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 27 in Al Hallia, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle.

Lt. Col. Anthony L. Sherman
Age: 43
Hometown: Pottstown, Pa.
Unit: Army's 304th Civil Affairs Brigade, U.S. Army Reserves, based in Philadelphia, Pa.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 27 in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, as a result of a non-combat related injury (medical).

Staff Sgt. Mark A. Lawton
Age: 41
Hometown: Hayden, Colo.
Unit: Army's 244th Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, Grand Junction, Colo.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 29 north of As Suaydat, Iraq. Lawton was in a convoy that was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.

Sgt. Sean K. Cataudella
Age: 28
Hometown: Tucson, Ariz.
Unit: Army's 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
Circumstances: Died Aug. 30 in Ba'qubah, Iraq. Cataudella was driving a military vehicle that hit an embankment and rolled into a canal.
