The Dallas Morning News Travel section was named best newspaper travel section (circulation 350,000 or more) in the recent contest sponsored by the 20-state Central States Chapter of the Society of American Travel Writers. Travel editor Mary Ellen Botter won second place "Best Newspaper Article on Foreign Travel" for her story about ghosts in the Tower of London. She also won second place "Photography: Animals/Wild life" for a picture of Crush the turtle at the Turtle Talk attraction at Walt Disney World, and an honorable mention in that category for a picture of a crow cleaning the face of a sheep on Arran Island in Scotland.Travel section, editor win awards
