Fire crews are protecting two homes threatened by a 100-acre wildfire near Ephrata in central Washington.
The homes are 1 1/2 miles northwest of downtown Ephrata in an area of grass and sagebrush.
Fire crews were hampered Tuesday by difficult terrain, but called for helicopter water drops.
Kyle Foreman of Grant County Emergency Management says the fire is burning away from town and there have been no injuries.
