AP Wire - Oregon
01/05/2009
Parts of Interstate 84 remain closed in Eastern Oregon, hit by a snowstorm.
Up to 8 inches is expected Monday in some areas, with a few more inches in the evening.
The state highway department says the eastbound lanes of the interstate are closed between Pendleton and Baker City, the westbound lanes between Baker City and La Grande.
Three state highways have been closed: Oregon 334 near Weston, 204 between Helix and Athena, and 237 between Island City and Cove and between Union and North Powder.
Baker City crews got to work on the streets early Monday, but Public Works Director Michelle Owen says it's going to take a few days to clear them all.
