The reward for information leading to an arrest in the illegal killing of six deer in Eastern Oregon has been bumped to $3,500.
Trooper Mike Mayer of the Oregon State Police is investigating the killings that occurred on private property outside Heppner between Aug. 20 and Sept. 1.
The Humane Society of the United States and its Wildlife Land Trust boosted the reward offer with a $2,500 contribution. A Heppner rancher and the Turn In Poachers program had earlier created a $1,000 reward.
