Eugene police are calling it a murder for hire.
They have arrested two men in the death of 35-year-old Lance McBride, who belonged to a group dedicated to researching and recreating European history before the 17th century.
The suspects are charged with aggravated murder. They are 41-year-old Dennis Richard Sheridan of Eugene and 21-year-old Kevin Bradley Anderson of Springfield.
McBride's fiancee, Sharlene Sheridan, found him shot to death at his home when she returned from work.
Dennis Sheridan is the ex-husband of Sharlene Sheridan. Police have accused him of hiring Anderson to kill McBride.
