The mercury shot over the 100 degree mark in several Western Oregon cities and more hot weather is expected.
As of 6 p.m. Thursday the temperature was 108 in Medford, matching a record for that date set in 1933.
It was 102 in Aurura and 100 in Corvallis, Eugene, Portland, Roseburg, Salem, The Dalles and Scappoose.
Eastern Oregon temperatures generally peaked in the mid -to-high 90s.
