A 77-year-old Sweet Home man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly tried to suffocate a 99-year-old woman.
Police say Willis Porter had a brief conversation with the woman at her home on Wednesday in neighboring Lebanon, then knocked her to the floor, assaulted her and attempted to suffocate her.
Lebanon police say the woman was treated for minor injuries at a Lebanon hospital and released.
Porter was arrested later at his home in Sweet Home.
