The parking lot at the top of Marys Peak was closed off as search-and-rescue workers looked for a missing man from Albany.
The all-night search for 61-year-old Neil Herbert ended Wednesday, when volunteers found his body on Marys Peak.
After interviews with family members, investigators say the cause of death was suicide. Benton County authorities say Herbert was found dead of a gunshot wound.
His SUV was found in the parking lot of Marys Peak on Tuesday.
