The Clallam County sheriff's office hopes DNA tests may identify human remains discovered by a Port Angeles man leveling his back yard for a child's play area.
Undersheriff's Ron Peregrine says it was possibly an old burial site. Investigators also are checking whether the body is a man who went missing in 1987.
The remains found May 14 were identified as human by the King County medical examiner's office.
